CAROL P DUHANEY ARTS AWARD
'Carol P Duhaney Arts Award' is an annual arts competition and awards ceremony to promote and celebrate the work of local young artists, helping them to gain confidence and grow in their artistic experience.
The award is named after Carol who was a talented, award-winning artist and historian. She lived in Old Trafford, Manchester. She delivered art and history workshops and presentations and was passionate about spreading the joy of art.
Her artwork is unique and informed by the rich and vibrant Caribbean culture and her upbringing. She used watercolours, oils, ink and tissue paper. She also used recycled boxes, fabrics and newspapers.
The Carol P Duhaney Arts Award 2024 took place on Friday 27 September at Flixton House in Manchester.
The event was attended by over 100 people from Trafford and surrounding areas.
There was a buffet, music and an exhibition that showcased the artwork of our creative and talented young people.
A big thank you to everyone who made the arts award ceremony a great success.
Thank you to Arawak Housing Association who supported the Carol P Duhaney Arts Award 2024.
