CAROL P DUHANEY ARTS AWARD

'Carol P Duhaney Arts Award' is an annual arts competition and awards ceremony to promote and celebrate the work of local young artists, helping them to gain confidence and grow in their artistic experience.

The award is named after Carol who was a talented, award-winning artist and historian.  She lived in Old Trafford, Manchester.  She delivered art and history workshops and presentations and was passionate about spreading the joy of art.

Her artwork is unique and informed by the rich and vibrant Caribbean culture and her upbringing.   She used watercolours, oils, ink and tissue paper.  She also used recycled boxes, fabrics and newspapers.

This year's arts award ceremony took place at Flixton House and was a fantastic night - we celebrated and showcased the wonderful artwork and creativity of children and young people 18 years and under.
